| Description: Original artwork for Master Comics #123 (Fawcett, 1951) page 10 by Bill Ward (pencils and inks), for the supernatural tale "Capt. Marvel Jr. and the Flying Desperado." Beautiful final page as Captain Marvel Jr. catches the famed winged sandals of Mercury, the Roman Messenger of the gods, which have just blown off the feet of the thief named Hixcox, who pleads to Jr. to save him as he falls to his certain death. The "Little Blue Cheese" sours to-the-rescue, catching the doomed crook who makes a full confession to Marvel. CMJ flies him down to the front of the police station and vows to return the winged sandals to Mercury and all the stolen money and riches back to the residents of Millionaires Row that Hixcox had recently raided. The final panel depicts Marvel Jr. waving good buy to a grateful Mercury, who flies off to his home, the "Netherland of the gods."
