Description: Gripping original artwork for Night Nurse #4 (Marvel, 1973) by artist and co-creator, Win Mortimer (pencils and inks). This was the final issue of this series, which featured Christine Palmer as the lead Night Nurse heroine in this murder-mystery, “Who Done it” tale, “The Secret of Sea-Cliff Manor.” In this spooky story, Christine has left the hospital to try and forget painful memories of betrayal (from issue #2) and ends up landing at a northeastern Sea-Cliff manor as a private nurse for the physical rehabilitation for the wheelchair-bound Dereck Porter. The old and creaky manor has a creepy atmosphere and at night Christine can see eerie lights signaling from the long-abandoned lighthouse to a mysterious person stalking the manor grounds. After numerous near-fatal accidents that seem to point to sabotage by the butler Harold, Christine eventually discovers that Derek to is the one responsible and forces him to reveal this since he was only faking paralysis in order to take advantage of his aunt's goodwill and use the remote manor location as a connection in a drug smuggling operation. Now that the “Cat is out of the bag,” Derek tries to push Christine over the seaside cliff to silence her, but the butler Harold comes to her timely rescue by pushing the abandoned wheelchair at Derek, knocking him off the cliff to his death in Christine's stead.
