|Type: Original Art
|Publisher Date: Marvel, 1973
Original artwork for Vampire Tales #2 (Marvel, 1973) by the talented team of Rich Buckler (pencils) and Pablo Marcos (inks). From the dark tale entitled, "The Blood Sacrifice of Amanda Sainti." How many innocents can you destroy Michael Morbius before Destruction becomes your only purpose? A Nightmare that seems to never end. Visually graphic and chillingly intense scene as Morbius, the Living Vampire feasts upon a lowly cab driver. This superb page presents Morbius in all his dark viciousness with great close-up shots of the vampire emphasizing his insatiable bloodlust. The fourth panel even has a important historical reference as the cabbie Max mentions Watergate as "the end of civilization." Nice subtle use of zip-a-tone shading from the artists. Morbious acts an an anti-hero in this dark tale, trying to rescue the pure and innocent Amanda Sainti from being the next sacrifice of an wicked satanic cult.
