Description: Original artwork for The Invaders #29 (Marvel, 1978) page 17 by Alan Kupperberg (pencils) with beautiful finishers by Frank Springer (inks). Impressive large four-panel page for the story entitled "Attack of the Teutonic Knight," written by Don Glut features several superb images of Namor, the Mighty Sub-Mariner, his closest surface alley from the Golden-Age, the beautiful Betty Dean and Captain Roth. This scene features four large panels as Namor discusses the rarity, strategically importance and military potential of the element called Radium X. Namor scolds Betty about always getting "swept up by this Air-Breathers madness," as Betty responds that it is her job as a newswoman to cover such "lousy things..." This page is highlighted with some wonderful full figure and close-up images of Namor standing tall and majestic in his commanding regal Atlantean glory alongside his most trusted confident. Page is a wonderful nostalgic throwback look at the vital and turbulent times during the Golden-Age of comic books when the Invaders' members of the Sub-Mariner, Captain America and the original Human Torch and Toro fought the evil Axis powers of Hitler's Nazi Germany, Mussolini's Italy and Tojo's Imperial Japanese empire during the dark days of World War II. When the stakes were the highest and the fate of the free world was in real jeopardy.
