From the story, "Earth's Impossible Day," scripted by the great Gardner Fox, the Winged Wonders team of Hawkman and Hawkgirl enjoy a brief moment of jubilant serenity and satisfaction after dousing a raging forest fire with a waterspout they created from a nearby body of water with their powerful wings, just before, yet another battle engagement with two fleeing criminals. Panel four in extra special, showcasing a touching romantic exchange between Katar Hol (Hawkman) and his lovely wife, Shayera Thal (Hawkgirl), while on picnic.



This is Joe Kubert at his very best, beautifully illustrating one of the finest storylines of the entire Silver-Age.
