Tales to Astonish #100 art by Marie Severin

This superb page includes both a nice close-up of the Hulk as well as multiple cool shots of the Sub-Mariner. The top two panels are shared by the major supporting characters such as Betty Ross, General "Thunderbolt" Ross and Major Glenn Talbot whose thoughts are haunted by the Hulk and his exploits. The rest of the page is dominated by the Mighty Sub-Mariner, who regains his great strength by immersing himself in the cool waters of the Atlantic Ocean and then soars skyward to proclaim, "The WATER to Me is LIFE!! It has Restored My Supreme Amphibious STRENGTH..! Once AGAIN Am I MONARCH of all I Survey!" He flies above the skyline of Miami Beach declaring, "So long as the SEA is ever near, not even the power of the HULK can stop me NOW!"

Tales to Astonish #100 is one of the greatest and most key battle issues of the entire Silver-Age, a lasting testament for these iconic characters the Incredible Hulk and Namor, the Mighty Sub-Mariner along as well as to the legendary talents of creator/ writer Stan "The Man" Lee and artists Marie Severin and Dan Adkins.
