Written by seasoned writer Sheldon Mayer, this tale featured the second appearance of the mysterious Black Orchid (Susan Linden I), in which a modern day pirate, Barry de Morte challengers the Black Orchid to thwart his upcoming job and tries to discover her secret identity in the process.

Black Orchid artwork is very rare and seldom seen anywhere in the marketplace. Artist Tony DeZuniga was firing on all cylinders during this prime period of his illustrious career with beautiful figure work, detailed rendering and exquisite layout and draftsmanship. This page features a terrific full body shot of the Black Orchid in panel three as she flies heavenward after exposing Barry's schemes and turning him over to the police. Barry realizes he has been outwitted at his own game when he discovers a rubber mask of Mala's face and a red wig aboard his own yacht.
