The original Golden-Age Flash (Jay Garrick) dashes through his adversary The Shade on this cover in full dramatic glory for the story entitled, "When Lightning Strikes." Cover is expertly rendered in vibrant acrylic paints with rich colors and subtle textures that are so indicative of Tony Harris' alluring style.

The Shade was one of the original Flash's main arch-villains back in the 1940's, and then reinvented in 1994 as a morally ambiguous Victorian era immortal who gained the ability to manipulate shadows and his immortality from an unexplained mystical event. In 2009, the Shade was ranked as 89th "Greatest Villain of All Time" by the entertainment website IGN. Hands down, this is a superb cover beyond any doubt, which resonates with a vintage mood and feel from the celebrated Golden-Age of comic books. The cover art is done on heavy illustration board, is in excellent condition and has an image area of 11" x 16.5" - matted to an overall size of 16.5" x 21.5."
