Description: Beautiful book of this early 1950's issue stars Batman and Robin in "The Mystery Rope," written by David Vern Reed with artwork by Batman's creator Bob Kane (pencils) and Lew Sayre Schwartz (pencils) with finishes by Charles Paris (inks). Backup story features a Joker appearance in "The Man Who Wrote the Joker's Jokes," again written by David Vern Reed with artwork by Kane (pencils) and Schwartz (pencils) and inks by Charles Paris. This issue also includes a third story entitled, "The Lost Legion of Space," written by Bill Finger with art by Dick Sprang (pencils) and Charles Paris (inks). All in all, this is a very flat, clean and tight copy that sports full, deep colors and perfectly fresh white paper. Quite scarce in this grade! |
