Original artwork for Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #22 page 20 (Marvel, 1976) by the immensely talented Rudy Nebres (pencils and ink wash). From the story line entitled, "Iron Fist the Living Weapon Part 4: To Storm the Gates of Hell," written by seasoned scribe Chris Claremont. This is a mind blowing spectacular full splash page that pits Iron Fist against four of Dhasha Khan's guards as he takes all four out with his master Kung Fu skills as he fights for to save the soul of his beloved Jade (Firebird).

Nebres' pencil and ink wash work on this piece is truly masterful in his overall complex design, dynamic movement and ultimate execution of sublime detail. The impact is breathtaking, to say the least, as this action battle scene represents the finest page of this impressive story.

The image size is large 11.5" x 17.5" (nearly twice-up format) with wall-to-wall artwork. What many collectors do not realize is that many of the comic book artists illustrated their best work in these 1970's Marvel magazines, since they provided a perfect platform for larger and wider artwork space along with fabulous ink wash rendering that translated so well to the black and white printing process. Perhaps the BEST Iron Fist splash we have ever seen at any time!
